I don't know what to say.... Other than my heart sank and I was crushed when I learned of this news. Kurt and I were very close friends for many years and I always (to this day) considered him a lifelong friend - someone I would do just about anything for if he needed it. Anyhow, Kurt and I simply drifted apart due to various life complications etc. Nevertheless, I always thought Kurt & I would rekindle a special friendship one day. Unfortunately, I have been living in the UK for many years now as a British citizen and have been away from the Cape for going on 10 years - so I have been out of touch with too many friends I should have kept in contact with. Anyhow, my wife (Liz) and I returned to the cape for the summer a few days ago only to be alerted of this horrible news which has left me quite emotionally troubled. I had a good cry last night thinking about Kurt and we actually went by his home on the lake this afternoon. I am emotionally traumatised despite a strong sense of one's life purpose and divinity. Kurt was a sort of friend anyone would be lucky to have in their lifetime... I lost both of my parents within the past 6 months and another good friend a few years ago in a similar way. Kurt's passing has been a shock and wake-up call for me to reach out to those I love - - I am crying as I write this. Kurt was a very special person and I can't believe I will never be able to see him in this lifetime again. Liz & I will be on the Cape until we return home on the 15 of Sept. If there is anything we can do to help in regard to Kurt's home on the cape, or otherwise, please let us know..... I can't imagine how crushed all of you are feeling, but trust that your pain is shared. If there is anything I can do up here - please don't hesitate to call. My number for the summer is 508 524 2195 or Scott@OceanSafety.onmicrosft.com. I have met a few of you some years ago - a hug to you if I could be there. BILLY - SHOULD YOU GET THIS - PLEASE CONTACT ME AND LET ME KNOW WHAT THE BLOODY HAPPENED! AND, IF I CAN HELP OUT - I DID NOT KNOW YOU THAT WELL BUT I ALWAYS LIKED YOU AND CONSIDERED YOU A FRIEND TOO - PLEASE REACH OUT IF YOU CAN. 104 SEABROOK DRIVE, FALMOUTH 02536. I hope God is bringing you comfort... Scott Beardshaw Bressoud
