Obituary for Ronald Christopher Budny
Ronald C. Budny passed away on January 19, 2016. Ron was born on December 9, 1943 in Brooklyn, New York to the late John and Felicia (Jankowski) Budny. He is survived by his brother, Robert Budny and wife Kathy, two nephews; Jeff and wife Jayna and Bryan and wife Christine and two grand nieces; Katelyn and Megan. Ron is predeceased in death by his sister; Natalie.
He was an interior designer, ASID recognized him on local, national and international levels for creating beautiful environments. He began his design career in New York City following graduation from the Fashion Institute of Technology. He also received his PHD from Oxford University.
He served as executive set designer at the Alderman Company of High Point, NC. Director of planning for Danbury Connecticut’s Ethan Allen Company. Vice president and director of the residential interior’s division of the Rowland Associates Inc, Indianapolis. In 1990 he founded his own firm, Ron Budny/ Interior Design. He has worked in City’s throughout the US and in Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Canada, England and countries of South American earning design awards along the way. He received the best residential design award from the ASID. They have honored him with the highly prestigious and coveted MEDALIST AWARD, the highest chapter award bestowed by ASID. He is a founding and charter member of the Indiana Coalition for Interior Design, International Chair Holder for the Color Marketing Group and served on the Indiana State University Design Advisory Board.
Ron moved from Indiana to Litchfield about 10 years ago. He was involved with the Litchfield Historic Society and many other organizations. Ron will be missed by the many friends he had made throughout his life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, January 25, 2016 at 12:00pm at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Litchfield. Friends and family may call from 9:30am-11:30am at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield, CT 06759. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery.
