Obituary for Margaret Elizabeth Parsons

On April 10, 2015, Margaret Elizabeth Parsons (Beckwith), passed into eternal rest at Charlotte Hungerford Memorial Hospital. She was the loving and devoted wife of the late Levi Parsons III.

She is survived by her brother, George, of Goodman, Missouri, and niece, Jennifer H. Blake, of Shelbourne, Massachusetts.

Margaret was a life-long resident of Litchfield, Connecticut, and attended St. Margaret's Mcternan School, graduating class of 1954, and the Martha Graham School of Dance. She was a parishioner of St. Michael's Church in Litchfield.

Margaret was a gentle, kind and thoughtful woman, who possessed an inner quality of sincere grace towards all who knew her. Her concern and loving kindness for others was evident throughout her life. Her intelligence and humor was an integral part of her personality, as well as her deep appreciation and love of music and the arts. She possessed a positive outlook and never voiced a complaint regarding her health or any burden given to her to bear. Margaret enjoyed outings at the home of her stepson, Jim, and his wife, Arlene, at their summer cottage on Bantam Lake, for many years. She baked delicious apple pies and always brought one for dessert. She was also a very good cook.

Margaret's life ended too soon and she will be missed by all who knew her. She was a beautiful soul and loved her family and friends deeply. Thank you to all the caregivers at Brandywine and Charlotte Hungerford Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held for family and friends, at St. Michael's Church in Litchfield, on Thursday, April 30th, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in West Cemetery, Litchfield.
