Lifelong Resident of Bantam
Marcel Daley Roy, 84, passed away on March 10, 2015 at Valerie Manor in Torrington. He was the husband of the late Margaret M. (Hemlock) Roy. Marcel was born on November 15, 1930 to the late Marcel Dominic and Mary Agnes (Daley) Roy.
Marcel was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He was the owner and operator of the Bantam Pharmacy for 36 years. He was a lifetime member of the Bantam Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the American Legion Post #44, Litchfield Lions Club, Knights of Columbus and was a church council member of Our Lady of Grace.
Marcel was an avid gardener, card player. He enjoyed flying model planes, deep sea fishing and ice fishing. He cherished time spent with family and friends
He is survived by three daughters; Elizabeth Lowell and her husband Christopher of Gainesville, Virginia, Cynthia Williams and her husband Stephen of Northfield, and Darlene Maniago and her husband Michael of Harwinton, two grandchildren; Catrice Ghannam and Jessica Clarke and her husband Dennis and one great grandson, Colton James Clarke. Marcel was predeceased by a sister Patricia Roy.
Friends and family may call on Friday, March 13, 2015 from 5-7pm at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11:00am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 49 South Street, Litchfield. Burial will be held in the spring.
