Obituary for Rose Katharina Kazlowski

Rose Katharina Kazlowski
Rose K. Kazlowski
Torrington

Rose K. Kazlowski of Torrington passed away on March 2nd. Born in Bingen Germany in 1921, she was the daughter of the late Maria Zilker and Joseph Roos.

Rose and her late husband Wladislaw immigrated here after the war to build a new life together and raise four children. She is survived by two daughters; Vera Brown of Torrington and Jeanette Green of Norwich; two sons, Michael of Torrington and Walter and longtime companion Regina Dombrowski who were also loving devoted caregivers of Rose. She is also survived by five grandchildren.

Rose worked hard all her life at home and in various jobs finally retiring from the Torrington Co. after many years of employment.

She enjoyed working in her vegetable garden, loved the outdoors and growing beautiful flowers in her extensive ever growing flower gardens, once getting the attention of a reporter who put a picture of her with her flowers and a story in the local newspaper.

Rose loved all kinds of animals having cared for many through the years. She loved to feed her wild birds in the cold weather which also attracted the area squirrels, chipmunks, and more recently to her surprise black bears.

Mom had an outgoing and upbeat outlook on life and made many friends. She could be very caring and understanding but as tough as nails if needed. She truly will be missed by family and many that have known her all her life. She was one of a kind!

A memorial service will be held Saturday April 11, 2015 at 2:00pm at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Rd., Litchfield. Calling hours are from 12:30 to 2:00pm prior to the service.
