Henrietta Laura (LeSage) Ball passed from this world after 75 wonderful years on June 23, 2015 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She had spent the last 5 years in a brave battle against multiple myeloma. She was born in Oneco, CT on June 14, 1940, the daughter of Henry LeSage and Loretta (Beauregard) LeSage. She spent her early years there and also lived in Weston, Westport, and New Milford, CT. For the past 20 years she had lived in the Torrington, CT area.
Henrietta is survived by her loving husband of 19 years, Thomas Rivers; a twin brother Henry and his wife Donna of Alton Bay, NH; a sister Alberta Demers and her husband Fernand of Huber Heights, OH; a sister Gertrude Casey of Wilmington, NC and a brother Laurent LeSage and his wife Barbara of Kent, CT; a daughter Kathleen (Ball) Nolan and her husband Kevin of Watertown, CT; a son Donald of Goshen, CT and a daughter Michelle (Ball) Hayward and her husband Brian of Warsaw, IN. She was predeceased by a husband John Ball of New Milford. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
She spent 14 years enjoying her passion for plants and gardening as an employee at White Flower Farm in Morris, CT, retiring in 2010 upon her diagnosis. She enjoyed above all spending time with her family and also enjoyed reading, walking and tag sales on Sunday drives.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 6 PM on Monday June 29th at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Rd, Litchfield, CT. Burial will be private on Tuesday, June 30th. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Center for Cancer Care Fund, 200 Kennedy Drive, Torrington, CT 06790.
