Obituary for Gloria DelGaizo

Longtime Blood Donor

Gloria Marciano DelGaizo, 88, passed away on March 18, 2015 at The Hebrew Home in West Hartford. She was the loving wife to the late Carmine DelGaizo. Gloria was born on October 8, 1926 in Waterbury, CT to the late Anthony and Giagonda Marciano.

She was raised in Waterbury and moved to Litchfield in 1964. She was a graduate of Croft High School in Waterbury, CT.

Gloria had a deep love of family, she was an avid gardener, superb cook, and enjoyed traveling with her husband. She was a lifelong civil rights advocate, a Litchfield Historical Society Volunteer and a long time blood donor.

Gloria is survived by her son; David DelGaizo of Manhattan, two daughters; Diane DelGaizo Barrena of Marbella, Spain, and Anita L. DelGaizo of Seattle, Washington, a sister; Louise Solla of Watertown, CT, a brother Arthur Marciano and his wife Suse of Westport, CT, three granddaughters; Anna DelGaizo of New York City, Bianca Barrena DelGaizo of Marbella, Spain and Lennon T. Brown of Seattle, Washington, a son-in-law, Jose L. Barrena, a daughter-in-law; Kimberly Coghill DelGaizo along with several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-601.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 49 South Street, Litchfield on April 25, 2015 at 10:00am. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be private.
