Obituary for Norman Charles Cahill
LITCHFIELD – Norman Charles Cahill, 76, passed away on January 1, 2019.
Born in Torrington, on July 28, 1942, he was the son of the late Joseph and Lyda May (Soule) Cahill. A lifelong Litchfield resident, Norm was a 1960 graduate of Litchfield High School and attended college at UCONN. He worked for TRW and later for SKF of Winsted from where he retired.
He loved his three horses, Jack Russell Terriers, cars, football and the Lady Huskies.
He is survived by his cousin, Dorothy Robbins and her husband, Roger; his longtime companion, Darlene Upson, with whom he travelled extensively for 38 years; and several friends.
The family would like to thank the Staff at Rose Haven, VNS and Litchfield Hills Chore Service for their compassionate care.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, January 11, at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. Burial in the spring will be private. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 1 to 3 at the funeral home.
Donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
