Obituary for Roger B. Phelan

Roger Bryon Phelan
Local Musician

Bantam – Roger Byron Phelan, 68, passed away on December 17, 2017 in Waterbury. He was born on December 1, 1949 in Waterbury, CT to the late James A. and Helen A. (Fagan) Phelan.

He graduated from Wamogo Regional High School and was a Army Vietnam Combat Veteran. Roger was a passionate musician, singer and songwriter, performing regularly at many local venues. He also was a tool and model maker, landscaper and an avid reader and horticulturist. Roger was a proud member of the Veteran’s Homefront Band of Connecticut Veteran’s Medical Center, West Haven, providing comfort for the grieving families of our veterans.

Roger is survived by his daughter Delilah B. Phelan and his siblings; Jay M. Phelan, Paula Christman (Pete), Laurie E. Phelan (Dorothy Porter), Daria K. Hart (Tom), Matthew J. Phelan, Robert J. Phelan (Kathy), Terence M. Phelan (Audrey) and Jennifer M. Phelan.
In addition to his parents, Roger was predeceased by his brother James A. Phelan, Jr., and sister Dina Phelan.

Roger will also be missed by his brother-by-another-mother Michael John Cavallero and all the LaPlaca families.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 10:00am at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. Entombment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Friends and family may call on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 4:00-7:00pm at Rowe Funeral Home.
