The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Sallie Smith can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: I send my sincere condolences to everyone in Sallie’s family. Sallie and I were classmate from first grade all the way through high school.
I sat with Sallie for dinner at one of our recent reunions and enjoyed her company. Her RSVP for the reunion she said she wanted to see how her classmates had aged over the years and her curiosity was satisfied.
One of my early memories was when we both participated in the Christmas program put on at East School. There is a photo of the cast on our class web site, http://ths54.com/ . Scroll down past the reunion write-ups.
I know I speak for Sallie’s other classmates in saying she was admired for her courage and strength and she will be missed.

Condolence: I first met Sallie at Bantam School when she worked in the cafeteria. She always had a smile and she was always incredibly friendly. The ladies who worked in the kitchen were always very good to me and made sure I got enough to eat. After Bantam School was closed, I would occasionally see her and she always had a smile and was glad to chat about what a wonderful school it was. She loved her family and we were all thrilled to see Kallyn hired as a pre-school teacher in Litchfield. Even better, one of our grandsons was lucky enough to have her as a teacher. He had a great year! I'm sure Sallie was beaming to see Kallyn return to her roots. I know she was having a tough time physically in recent years, but you would never know it, because the smile was always there. She brought a ray of sunshine everyday with her wonderfully contagious smile! Thinking of you Sallie, I will always remember that smile!
