Sarrah Ann Wright of the Woodville Section of New Preston, CT , wife of late husband Valentine John Edward Wright, Sr., went to eternal rest on Tuesday March 21, 2017 following a lengthy illness.
Sarrah was born on April 21, 1930 in Bantam, CT to the late Harry Royal Wright, Sr. and Ethel Weeks Wright. She was a graduate of Washington High School, Washington, CT Class of 1948.
Sarrah was a retiree of the Torrington Company in Morris, CT. She was also a Life Member of the Washington Fire Department Auxiliary, Past Senior Regent of the Moose Club in Torrington, CT and a volunteer at the VNA Thrift Shop in Woodville.
An avid crocheter, Sarrah made many afghans and winter hats for her family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking and baking and was well known for her rum balls, pumpkin rolls, and pizzelles she made during the Christmas holidays.
Sarrah is survived by her daughter Joanne Wright and son Valentine (VJ) John Edward Wright, Jr. Granddaughters Kristine (Krissy) Cheney-Haskell and Kolleen Cheney-Pinette and Great Granddaughter Brittany Pinette.
She is also survived by her sisters and brothers, Shirley Galik, Nancy Volinski, Snookie Gutherie, Yvonne Russo and husband Spencer and Marlene Collins and husband Bruce, Harry Wright and wife Darby, Michael Lazaro, Edward Wright Stuart, and Richard Boudreau and wife Lucia.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Maryann, sisters Eloise Polichie and Germaine Boudreau, and brothers George Wright, Raymond Boudreau, Ronnie Boudreau, Roger Boudreau and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Monday March 27, 2017 from 4 to 7 pm at the Rowe Funeral Home in Litchfield, CT. A service will begin at 7PM. A reception will follow at the Bantam Fire House, Bantam, CT. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Washington Fire Department Auxiliary, 109 Bee Brook Road, Washington Depot, CT 06794.
