June M. Thomas, 85, died peacefully on Monday, January 19, 2015 at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, CT surrounded by her loving family.

June was born on June 21, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Edward and Anne (English) Moyer.

She graduated from Bryn Mawr College with a Bachelor of Arts in English and obtained a Master of Arts in English from Smith College.

On February 16, 1957 she wed David G. Thomas and spent the majority of her married life in Summit and Rumson, N.J. She Subsequently, and after a period of ten years in Dallas, TX, moved to Litchfield, CT in order to be closer to her daughters.

Among her many lifelong interests and pursuits were reading, bird watching, bridge, classical music, gardening, and the care of her many canine companions.

June had a quick wit and was a lover of the spoken and written word. In addition, her love of nature was ever present.

She leaves behind her loving husband, David G. Thomas, and her two daughters; Virginia S. Thomas of NY, NY and Victoria C. Thomas of New Canaan, CT, as well as two granddaughters; Eliza K. Lupone and Madeline J. Lupone.

Family and friends may call on Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 4 to 6pm at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield, CT.
