Sylvia (MacKenzie) Schuster, 99, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2017 at Litchfield Woods HCC. She was the wife of the late Walter Schuster. Sylvia was born on July 30, 1918 in Millinocket, Maine, one of nineteen children of James and Carrie (Skinner) MacKenzie. She attended Sterns High School and was the first female manager of A & P Supermarkets in Maine.

Sylvia will be remembered for her knitting, crocheting and love of other arts and crafts as well as fishing, cooking and entertaining.

She is survived by a son, William Schuster and his wife, Diane, of Goshen; daughters, Jean Morse of Bantam and Roberta Warner of Thomaston, four grandchildren; Jason Morse, Stuart Morse and his wife Deanna, Shannon Kelmelis and her husband Scott Thoma and Gunnar Schuster, six great-grandchildren; Jon, Ashley, Owen, Quinn, Meredith and Blake Morse and siblings Ronald MacKenzie, Katherine Higgins and Betty Lou Pound. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Frederick Morse.

Graveside services will be held Monday, August 21, 2017 at 12:00 pm at Goshen Center Cemetery.
